Membership

Membership to the Victorian Outdoor Education Association (VOEA) helps to support and promote Outdoor Education through the provision of:

- curriculum development
- professional development
- advice & referral
- establishment and review of guidelines and standards
- participation in state and national committees relevant to the profession
- networking with like associations
- publications and website

VOEA's members benefit from their membership by being able to:

- purchase a wide range of publications from the Education Outdoors Shop at member-discounted rates
- participate in a diverse range of professional development activities (including professional development activities run by other teaching associations) at member-discounted rates
- participate in an annual two-day state conference at member-discounted rates
- receive four issues of our quarterly journal, Journeys, and
- receive two issues of the national Australian Journal of Outdoor Education each year (excluding concession members)
- stand for election to the VOEA council

Non-members can receive some of the benefits above on a fee-for-service basis.

Types of Membership

There are four types of membership to the VOEA: Organisation, Individual, Organisation-affiliated and Concession.  Any VOEA Membership entitles the holder to stand for election as a VOEA Councilor.

Concession memberships are generally only available to full time students or pension card holders.  Concession members receive:

*	Four issues of the VOEA news-journal Journeys
*	Discounts to all VOEA events, conferences and professional learning opportunities.
*	A minimum of 10% discount on all books, DVDs, videos, teacher notes and other resources from the VOEA Bookshop
*	Hertz corporate discount (contact the office if you would like to access this benefit)
*	Discount subscription to Wild magazine if requested

Individual members receive the following benefits:

Organisation Affiliated membership is a full membership for individuals who work for a VOEA Organisation Member.  They receive the same benefits as Individual members but must be employed by a VOEA Organisation Member.

*	Access to a free alert service for freelance operators
*	Free entry in the VOEA Directory under Organisation Members.  This directory is distributed to all VOEA members and annual conference delegates in May each year.

*	Discount sponsorship and advertising rates in Journeys and other VOEA events
*	Discounts to all VOEA events, conferences and professional learning opportunities.
*	A minimum of 10% discount on all books, DVDs, videos, teacher notes and other resources from the VOEA Bookshop

Membership Materials

Current VOEA members are predominately schools and teachers.  Members also include universities and TAFE’s, commercial providers of outdoor services and equipment, professional associations and government agencies.
